Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center is one of the most promising systems for quantum information processing. NV centers are also excellent sensors for detecting weak signals. In this talk, I will first introduce the theoretical background of NV center electron spin decoherence mechanisms. Based on the decoherence mechanisms, I will talk about recent progress on singlemolecule nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) using NV centers. Particularly, I will discuss the quantum sensing technique based on dynamical decoupling, which allows people to detect, characterize and manipulate single nuclear spins weakly coupled to the NV centers in diamond.
